Despite all the rumors circulating that group members Andre 3,000 and Big Boi not getting along, the two are scheduled to be performing in their home town soon.
Yes it’s true, OutKast plans to end their summer tour where it all began, in Atlanta Georgia.
“It’s only right that we give the hometown what we’ve been giving the rest of the world, Atliens in ATL, homecoming! Festival Killers,” Big Boi said in a statement.
The pair confirmed in January, about their 40 different tour dates they have planned for the summer. OutKast officially kicked off their tour when they reunited on stage during their 2014 Coachella performance in California in April.
Thursday they hinted Instagram and Twitter that they will have an homecoming concert. The photo showed silhouette of the two partnered with a caption that read, “ATLast.” Friday they made a public statement to fans, to let them in on the plan.
“Coming from Atlanta gave us the freedom to be whatever we ever wanted to be because no one was paying attention. Now that everyone is, we want to say thank you,” André 3000 said.
The duo is set to perform at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park on Sept. 27.Tickets will go on sale on June 16.
