Paul George suffered an insanely gruesome leg injury last summer during a Team USA scrimmage. So gruesome that everybody including his team didn’t expect to see George on the court at all this year. The injury has kept George on the sideline for most of this year’s basketball season which has been extremely frustration for Indiana Pacers‘ fans and George.
But, on the glorious day of February 26th, the savior of the Pacers has returned…back to the practice court. Paul George participated in his first full team practice this season which is a huge step in the right direction. It doesn’t necessarily mean George will be back within the next few games and being the all-star we know him to be on the court right away but, it is definitely progress. Especially for Paul who had a set goal to come back March 1st. “Things are looking good,” he said. “After it happened, I didn’t think I’d be at this point right now, but I’m happy to be at this point now.”
There is still no set date for George’s return to the court for a regular season game yet. The Indiana Pacers are currently only a game back of the number eight seed so a premature return for Paul George is not necessarily needed right now but, a return within the next couple months could give the team a big spark heading into the final stretch before the playoffs.
