The Real Housewives of Potomac is back for a second season and the cast is bigger and better. All the original ladies return with a newbie in the mix, but so far this season it is all about Charrisse Jackson Jordan. She has broken out of her shell, and is showing a different more authentic side of herself. Jackson is shaping up to be the breakout star this season.
“Looking at season one it made me be myself from a different perspective. I saw a sad person. I was going through things in my marriage. I was reserve with a lot of my actions last season. I wanted the audience to see the real Charrisse. I needed to do it again to show a different side of me, and I have a different mindset,” said Jackson-Jordan.
This season you see Charrisse show a more light hearted side of herself. The mother of two is seen dancing around with her daughter, and enjoying life more this season. She even shows the more assertive side, going head-to-head with standout cast mate, Gizelle Bryant.
I’m a lot lighter, trying to have a great time and being a good mom. I will go through a lot of arguments with my cast mates this season. I hope people see a positive side this season. Last season, they saw a bougie side. They saw a character, and I didn’t like anything about that,” said the reality star.

The second is only a few episodes in, but it has already shown much improvement from last season. All the women are bringing the shade, and are more dynamic than before. Gizelle and Karen Huger remain scene stealers, but Jordan is coming into her own and giving the ladies a run for their money creating memorable scenes.
“It is a lot better than season one. You will laugh, cry, like people, not like people, but it is filled with a great entertainment. I like all the ladies when they are their authentic self. I’m not a character. I would rather be my authentic self,” Jackson-Jordan said.
Like other reality shows, the cast has a bit of shakeup. So far, we see less of original cast mate, Katie Rost, and we are introduced to a newbie, Monique Samuels. Samuels is one to watch and just might match up to Gizelle.
“We have a new cast mate who is quite spunky,” said Charrisse.
Charrisse and Monique are good friends on and off camera. She and cast mate, Robyn Dixon are also close as well. You see her fun, and friendly relationships play out with these two and moments of loyalty. Thus far, she is playing nice with most of the cast, but there are definitely some explosive scenes throughout the season.

Her storyline focuses on life going through a divorce and discovering herself as a single woman. She shows herself as a woman of class and integrity. Charisse was adamant that she not portray her soon to be ex-husband in a negative light, and she doesn’t want people to think she was seriously dating someone before her divorce was finalized (an accusation Gizelle made on the show).
“I didn’t want to portray a bad image of my husband on TV, he is a great guy. He was a great husband. I grew up with both my parents. I took my vows very seriously. I made a vow to God and I tried to convey that to my husband that we made a vow to God, and that we have to figure this thing out. We did counseling, but it became a point he just wasn’t interested,” said Jackson-Jordan.
There is more to Charrisse than being a housewife in one of the most elite parts of the District of Columbia. She is also a philanthropist, and business woman. She is currently working on a podcast, writing a book, and creating her own champagne line. She recently launched her new website, and is helping her daughter with a natural hair product line. Charrisse hopes to embark on more speaking engagements in the future as well. The former basketball wife has a full plate, and seems to be adjusting well to life after marriage. She is certainly one to watch on Real Housewives of Potomac.
You can catch her and the rest of the cast every Sunday night on Bravo at 9pm EST.
