The show was hosted by James Corden, and although entertaining was politically charged. Celebrities like Kendrick Lamar, Camilla Cabello, Bono, Trevor Noah, Logic, and surprisingly, Hillary Clinton took on topics like DACA, gender equality, suicide, and of course Donald Trump. Kendrick Lamar opened the show with U2, performing his song XXX, in military-like clothing.

Camilla Cabello’s speaking up for Dreamers, immigrants who came to the U.S. as children but are in danger as adults of being deported. “I’m here on this stage tonight because, just like the Dreamers, my parents brought me to this country with nothing in their pockets but hope. They showed me what it means to work twice as hard and never give up. And, honestly, no part of my journey is any different from theirs. I’m a proud Cuban-Mexican immigrant, born in Eastern Havana, standing in front of you on the Grammys stage in New York City,” she said to applause from the crowd. “And all I know is, just like dreams, these kids can’t be forgotten and are worth fighting for.”

“Thank you so much. First off, to the other nominees in this category—LordeKendrick LamarJay-ZChildish Gambino—you are the reasons I’m in the studio pulling my hair out because I know you guys are only going to come with the top shelf artistry and music and thank you guys for blessing the world with your music. I mean that,” Bruno explained.

While he admitted to drinking and celebrating throughout the night, the “24K Magic” singer also wanted to share a story where he gave credit to the people who helped inspire such a special album.

“So I’m 15 years old and I’m opening up a show in Hawaii called the Magic of Polynesia….My job in that show was to entertain about 1,000 people, 1,000 tourists from all over the world. And I put together a set list like 10 to 12 songs and I will be honest, I was incredible at 15,” he joked. “And later on in life, I found out that those songs that I was singing were written by either Baby FaceJimmy Jam and Terry Lewis or Teddy Riley.”

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, whe it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -MIKEY
