Introduced back in 1989, the Reebok Pump was the first shoe to ever have an internal inflation component. Located on the lower and upper tongue of the shoe, the pump helped to regulate cushioning locked around the ankle.
The Pump has been seen and worn by ballers like Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson, and Jerome Williams. Even pro wrestler John Cena has rocked the Pump as part of his hip-hop persona back in 2004.
The Pump even teamed up with late rapper Tupac to create a line called Insta Pump Furry after the shoe made an appearance in the 1994 film, “Above the Rim.”
In honor of the shoe’s 25th anniversary celebration, Reebok readies for the release of the upcoming Pump Kamikaze II.

According to SneakerNews, Reebok has combined two-past basketball models to help create the Kamikaze II; the color scheme depicts that of the Pump Twilight Zone.
The Pump Twilight Zone in conjunction to six-time NBA All-Star player Shawn Kemp’s court shoe of choice (Kamikaze Mid II), will make-up the structure of the shoe. Retired and former NBA player Dominique Wilkins made the Pump Twilight Zone popular back in 1989 the same month as the Pump’s release.
The Kamikaze II sports colors like black, neon, orange and the original white from the Twilight Zone. The logo, which has usually been “The Pump,” is now replaced with “The Kamikaze.”
There’s a “Twilight Kamikaze” scripted inside of the shoe’s tongue and a zig-zag striped lining from the Twilight Zone.
The Reebok Pump Kamikaze II “Twilight Zone” is expected to be released at select Reebok Classic retailers including Finish line. Shoe fans can expect this collector’s item to be released on March 13, 2015.
