Robin Thicke has been very open–perhaps too open– about his desire to win back his estranged wife Paula Patton, and things just got a little more personal as he delves into possible details behind their breakup in his newest visual for his latest single “Get Her Back.”
The video features Robin Thicke pouring out his heart to a dark-haired beauty who bears a resemblance to Patton, of course. He even manages to squeeze out a tear while he sings of his flaws in his relationship.
In the song he pleads, “All I wanna do
Is keep her love
Keep her love
Keep her satisfied
All I wanna do
Is make it right
Make it right
Is make you smile tonight.”
As the video plays, text messages appear on-screen showing the dialogue between two lovers. They include “I’m sorry,” “You embarrassed me,” “I can’t make love to you anymore.” “I hate myself,” “You ruined everything,” “How could you do that to me?” and “I wrote a whole album about you.”
It’s an easy assumption that the dialogue is suppose to be between Robin Thicke and Paula, but it is unclear whether those are the actual text messages exchanged between the two leading up to and after their split.
Either way, its another sad, public attempt for Robin Thicke to win back the affection of Paula, who has shown no public signs of wanting to reconcile.
Thicke debuted “Get Her Back” in May at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards and the song appears on his upcoming album titled Paula.
Paula is due out on July 1st and includes songs titled “Love Can Grow Back,” “Too Little Too Late” and “Forever Love.”
How do you all feel about this? Too much, a sincere effort or too little too late?
