A popular gossip blog site has ran a story suggesting that Atlanta stylist JoJo is dating rapper Young Thug. In an effort to keep her name out of controversy she has recently released a statement on the rumor as well as rumors of her dating other rappers.
She states:
“The feeling you get when your family calls you with news that they saw a story on gossip blogs about me being an “industry jump off” is heart breaking. At this point in my career I do understand people will make assumptions but no means will I let it slide. For the past few years I have styled from some pretty big name artists; yet today my whole career was jeopardized by a gossip blogs linking me to Young Thug as something other than stylist to the stars. I am sure that a lot of people don’t understand the relationship between a stylist and their client, but I want to set it straight.”
“My roster consists of Birdman, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan and several other known models and artists; and I love my career and daily I grow. I worked hard to build my brand and I won’t let a blog posting defame who I am. Young Thug is a client of mines that has become a close homie, nothing more nothing less. Some of the music industry artists and execs are truly my friends, we hang out and if you see me in the club I might be with one of my clients. I have a great relationship with all my clients (male or female), so before you start calling me all types of names, make sure you know I am JoJo The Stylist. As a business woman there is an approach that must be taken early on and I want those who have attacked my character to understand slander is illegal and can negatively impact my business. And in a climate where we are trying to put an end to cyber bullying and the NO RIP (reckless internet posting) campaign which I fully support, we must also hold media outlet accountable when they use derogatory and false allegations which brings about the same negative impact.”
