The spice of Scandal has officially returned in full swing. Shonda Rhimes has given the fans what we’ve been waiting for all season. The intensity of sitting on the edge of our seat has returned to the show. No one was honestly expecting that it was going to involve a sex tape with Fitz and Mellie’s teenage daughter. Now that we think of it what happened to the baby they had a few seasons ago? Mellie hasn’t nurtured or mentioned the little one for some time now. Either way, the Scandal we’ve all falling in love with is back.
Karen
Mellie and Fitz’s teenage daughter Karen brings the shock in during this weeks episode. Found lying across a bed with only her undergarments on, Olivia and Quinn find her intoxicated and almost unconscious. Once successfully getting her out of the house-party properly called #Swaggapalooza the hop on a chopper to her parent’s home. The shocker came in when a video was sent to her phone with footage of Karen having a threesome. Sadly, she could only remember one guy that evening she had relations with.
Olivia
The essence of Liv has also returned in full throttle. Once getting Karen back the white house she gets Fitz to find what’s important in the situation outside of getting angry. She reminds him that she needs a father at this time. Later on she gets to work on the case of disposing the footage. Once working on tracking down the info she find the boys parents and meets with them. Surprisingly, the parents try to extort Liv for 2.5 million to turn over the footage. Once convincing Fitz to simply pay the money she returns to the parents again. As she met with them again to make the exchange the tables turn when she realizes their motives even more and threatens to expose their identities for consuming child pornography.
Jake and Rowan
Olivia’s tricky rebound guy is extremely relentless. The ultimate goal and motive for Jake is to overthrow Rowan. Sadly, for him Rowan seems to always be 5 steps ahead of the curve. Lawson the security who was ordered to kill the Fitz’s son gets interrogated where he is forced to say Jake made him do it. This all happens as Fitz watches behind the double-sided mirror. Rowan successfully gets what he wants in the end, framing Jake and remaining the head of B6-13.
Quinn
Focuses this episode all on finding the guy who had the video and helping Olivia clean up the mess of Karen.
Huck
Successfully shuts down all cell phones in the party Karen was at to stop any attempted footage of her intoxication.
Mellie
She shows her true colors once she discovers Olivia in the white house again. She boldly grabs her arm and questions her and Liv replies with, “Ask your husband.” That very moment angered and livid she raced to the oval office and begins to question Fitz. He finally reveals the sex tape that Karen made. Mellie fires back saying, “Like Father, Like Daughter.” Fitz makes it clear that if she was being a mother and a wife things could have been a little different, but Mellie refuses to take the blame. Later she speaks to Karen and share a mother daughter moment amongst one another.
Liv and Fitz
Once alone things get intense between the two. Fitz questions where she went and Liv admits she was with Jake, which tears him apart. She reveals this after a passionate kiss is shared between the two.
