Seth Rogen Rumored to Play Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak in Steve Jobs Biopic

Comedic actor Seth Rogen will be laying his comical chops to rest and embracing a more dramatic role as the “original geek” and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in Sony’s biopic on Steve Jobs.

The film will be directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and written by Aaron Sorkin (writer of The Social Network), and is based off of Walter Isaacson’s biography Steve Jobs. Christian Bale is up for the role of Jobs, but reportedly hasn’t signed an official contract as of yet.

The film is said to be a more high profile film focusing on Jobs’ life after Apple became a big phenomenon. This will be quite different from last year’s independently financed “Jobs” starring Ashton Kutcher (Jobs) and Josh Gad (Wozniak), which focused more on jobs life leading up to when the iPod launched. The film only grossed $36 million amidst negative reviews, so with bigger names behind the new biopic is expected to be a big hit.

This won’t be the first time that Rogen has embraced his inner geek, the talented actor launched his career in the late 90s on NBC television show “Freaks and Geeks.”
