Grammy-Award winning artist Estelle is set to embark on her most passionate venture yet, the release of her independent record label, New London Records, in partnership with BMG. Leading with the release of her 3-volume EP titled Love & Happiness, under her new label, Estelle will take creative control over of all her current and future music endeavors.
“This is a new and exciting move for me,” says Estelle. “BMG has been an awesome partner throughout my career, and with New London we plan to continue bridging the gap between soul, pop, London and New York – uniting them through music.”
The singer, songwriter, and MC gave fans a sneak peek of what’s to come with Vol. 1 Love Jones released in early June, which was available for free download on EstelleDarlings.com for a limited time. Dating told from a single girl’s perspective, Love Jones Vol. 1 featured the upbeat first single “Call These Boys”, followed by the soulful “Til Tomorrow” and sultry, melodic “Whatever You Like.” The first volume of the EP, in partnership with Rosa Regale, was well received by fans and critics alike, generating buzz throughout the industry and setting the groundwork for the highly anticipated Vol. 2 Waiting to Exhale, coming this month, and Vol. 3 How Stella Got Her Groove Back to be released in October.
Richard Blackstone, Executive Vice President of BMG says, “Estelle has been a valued member of the BMG family as a writer for some time now. She is a deeply, passionate artist gifted with a tremendous voice and has music running through her veins. We are thrilled that Estelle has expanded our relationship and entered into a new partnership with BMG Label Services to release her upcoming album.”
Exploding on to the music scene in 2008, Estelle took the world by storm with her Grammy-award winning hit “American Boy,” featuring Kanye West. Shine, the singer’s second album, was an infusion of reggae, R&B, pop beats and vocals that created a genre all her own. She then followed up with her intimate third album, All of Me, which gave fans an in-depth look into her soul. Estelle’s critically acclaimed single, “Thank you”, showcased her amazing vocal ability, telling the story of a young woman’s journey after a failed relationship.
Coming off the momentum of Love & Happiness Vol. Love Jones, the hit single “Call These Boys”, will be available on iTunes on August 20th.
