This week I was on my university’s campus (Georgia State University…Go Panthers!) looking to see who was the fashionista/trendsetter to catch my eye with their outfit for the day. After doing a lot of scoping I noticed a focused college student studying for her next class right outside Georgia State’s Student Center with an outfit that said…too cool for school. Meet Christina Grace Thomas, a 21-year-old senior, and Journalism major.
S: What would you call this outfit?
C: “Believe it or not this is my, “late for class” outfit. I honestly woke up this morning and quickly put this outfit together. I could also call this outfit, “dressy chic.” I seem to put great outfits together quicker when I’m not thinking about too hard about it.”
S: Where did you purchase the items to your outfit?
C: “I am a bargain shopper. My combat boots I got for 5 dollars at Charlotte Russe. I got my high wasted pants at a boutique in North Lake Mall. My top was two dollars at Goodwill and my earrings were 5 dollars at Forever 21.”
S: In your opinion, what are the fall trends of 2014?
C: “Boyfriend sweaters, boyfriend shirts, any top that are looser fitting, headbands, and infinity scarfs.”
S: What is your one go to clothing item that you cannot live without?
C: “Dresses! They are easy and you can layer them with just about anything.”
S: Do you have any designers, or celebrities that you follow for fashion inspiration?
C: “Kanye and Kim’s street chic style is what inspires me right now.”
S: So, would you consider yourself a trendsetter or more someone who likes to follow the latest trends?
C: I go by what I feel and I don’t really wear what everyone is wearing. That’s why I shop at unheard of boutiques and go thrifting.
What do you think about Christina’s outfit? Any suggested places I should visit next? Who knows…you might be the next person in my article! Comment below and let me know!
Cheers!
