The Video Music Awards are MTV’s most anticipated program of the year. Stars, young and old, from around the globe gather together to celebrate one of the music industry’s biggest nights. Naturally, there are tons of publicity, events, promos, and parties. At one such event it all went down and it seems like it was bound to happen–Marion “Suge” Knight has been shot! The tragedy, drama, and mayhem unfolded early Sunday morning at a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party hosted by Chris Brown in The Sunset Strip off West Hollywood. Apparently, Knight was shot six times and is now being treated in Cedar-Sinai intensive care unit. Along with the Death Row CEO, two other people were also wounded, but neither of them seriously.
Following the events of the night Chris Brown immediately took to Twitter: “It’s disappointing that we as a society can’t have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes. Miss me with the bullsh–!!!” Everyone in attendance was stunned, including male model Tyson Beckford and Black Eyed Peas star, apl.de.ap. As aforementioned many are not surprised Suge Knight was shot. In his long musical history he has made a number of enemies, ran his record label with an iron fist, and was allegedly involved in gang activity. Additionally, this news comes on the heels of Death Row Records’ financial woes and pending bankruptcy. The shooting is currently under investigation by the Los Angeles County sheriff’s depart, but thankfully no one was killed. Still, the rap kingpin might want to lay low for awhile and avoid group settings! Check out the video below for footage from that night.
