Why No Meat November?
It is healthy to shake things up! Why live a complacent life? When you challenge yourself you prove that you can do whatever you want to do from achieving weight loss goals to getting your dream job. You will be motivated to step out of your comfort zone and leave your excuses behind. No Meat November is a simple detox from meat for the weeks leading up to your Thanksgiving feast. A meat detox helps to eliminate toxins from the body and increases energy. A major plus is the possible weight loss attributed to the meat detox. Give it a try!

If you’re a meat lover the challenge is going to be difficult and will take discipline. The goal is to feel energized and refreshed during the detox. It is important not to starve yourself and to replace nutrients so that you don’t feel weak. We want you to get the best results from No Meat November.

- Vitamin B12: breakfast cereals, fortified soy products, nutritional yeast, or supplements.
- Calcium: dark green vegetables (spinach, bok choy, broccoli, collards, kale, turnip greens), sesame seeds, almonds, red and white beans, soy foods, dried figs, blackstrap molasses, and calcium-fortified foods like soy, rice, and almond milks; fruit juices; and breakfast cereals.
- Vitamin D: vitamin D-fortified soy milk, rice milk, almond milk, orange juice, and some cereals.
- Protein: soy, other legumes, nuts, and seeds.
- Iron: soybeans, tempeh, and tofu; legumes like lentils and chickpeas; and fortified cereals
- Zinc: nuts, legumes, miso and other soy products, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, tahini, wheat germ, and whole-grain breads and cereals.
- Omega-3 fatty acids: flaxseed, chia seed, walnuts, canola oil, soy.
