The 2015 VMAS has proved to be entertaining to say the least… With Kanye declaring his candidacy for president in 2020. Or Nick Minaj’s abrupt warning to Miley concerning her negative commentary towards the “Anaconda” rapper. The shenanigans that took place the awards show was definitely colorful.
However, the fashions that graced the VMAS red carpet were short of colorful. Everyone seemed to have gotten the same memo: skin and black. Before I even dive deep into the fails of the night. Let’s kick-off the recap of VMA fashion with the highlights.
- FKA Twigs – Smoldered in an Atelier Versace Corset and Skirt.
Taylor Swift – She showed her darker side in a classy Ashish crop top and pant set.
Blacc Chyna & Amber Rose- While their matching outfits lacked true fashion innovation. What made them best dressed for me was the fact that they had a message and a positive one. Women are constantly held to double standards and both ladies wore clothes that shutdown any insult that could have ever been hurled back to them. They own the negative so that the positive could shine through.
Nick Minaj – In my opinion, Nick’s threat to Miley was tasteless. However. she shimmered in a gold Labourjoisie dress.
