[VIDEO] A Girl Saves The World! Disney’s “Moana” is AMAZING!

Who saves the world? In this case it is a girl; and not just any girl, Disney’s latest movie, Moana! Steeped in Hawaiian mythology, this amazing film tells the tale of Moana (Auli’i Cravalho), the daughter of a chief, who longs to explore the ocean. Her father, however, has a different path in mind for her as the leader of their people.

Moana tries to make peace with the life she has been given and her role on her island home, but when darkness threatens all that she loves she soon realizes she must make an impossible journey.

This means finding the demigod, Maui (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson), defeating the lava demon, Te Ka, and returning the Heart of Te Fiti to its rightful place!

These Disney Princesses of the Twenty-First Century are some serious go-getters! Gone are the days of young women waiting for some prince or shining knight to come to their rescue. They save each other and rescue themselves! Moana is easily the most determined Disney Princess to date! The lesson here is simple; the right path is the one you choose and no one, or thing, can choose that for you. Dare to be different, dare to dream of more! Explore!

The screening for Moana was held last night at Atlantic Station’s AMC  Regal Cinema 16 movie theater. There, crowds gathered to catch an early sneak peek at the newest Disney Princess. Among the crowd were a few of Atlanta’s YBFs (Young, Black, & Fabulous socialites) such as Cynthia Bailey (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Erica Dixon (Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta) Egypt Sherrod, DJ Fadelf, Mushiya Tsukika (Cutting It In The ATL), and Lisa Nicole Cloud (Married to Medicine).

We LOVE Moana, and so will you! Be sure you catch in a theater near you, tomorrow in theaters nationwide!

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, whe it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -MIKEY
