[VIDEO] Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone! You’ll Go “Ga Ga” for “La La Land!”

La La Land starring actors Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone is a must see for all especially if you’re a die hard fan of musicals.

La La Land captures every classic thing about a musical within the first 10 minutes of the film: dancing, singing, tension, and whimsical illusions.

The movie opens on a Los Angeles freeway, standstill traffic, and a title card informing the audience that the setting is in winter despite the sunny weather and the rolled down windows. Young adults are trapped in their cars listening to all types of music on the radio that magically collides into one song. And of course, that’s when the real magic begins. Once gets out their car and starts singing and before you know it, it’s a full-on flash mob with people dancing and singing in, out, around, and on top of almost every car on the highway while the director, Damien Chazelle’s, camera is whip-panning around creating the illusion that this sudden outburst of talent is being done simultaneously and seamlessly.

The audience is snapped back into reality when Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) honks the horn repeatedly eventually giving Mia (Emma Stone) the bird as he speeds around her on the freeway. Mia who is a barista on the lot at Warner Bros Studios is on her way to work and concentrated on acing an audition she has coming up while Sebastian scurries home as he contemplates on opening his own jazz club. Though their first interaction was less than pleasant, they seem to keep running into each other throughout the seasons and slowly fall for each other in the process.

It’s a cliché, opposites attract scenario and though we’ve seen it play out time and time again, there’s something about the chemistry between the two characters that makes us fall for the hype and get lost in the drama of it all. The plot explores a prominent crossroad scenario that appears in every relationship between young, ambitious lovers. The decision to go with true love or your life-long dreams. Whichever decision that’s made, in the end it’s all bittersweet and La La Land captures the various emotions resulting in Mia and Sebastian’s decision.

Overall, the film is moving and enjoyable. Between the musical numbers and the authenticity between the main characters, the audience can escape their reality and enjoy the ride in La La Land.

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, whe it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -MIKEY
