The topic of body-size has been a very hot one in the fashion world lately. With the uproar about Calvin Klein’s new “plus size” model who isn’t even plus-size and Victoria’s Secret saying that only their models have the “perfect body”, it’s good to see the powerhouse media of the fashion world, Vogue, stepping in to show some love to the real plus-size women.
Vogue unveiled a lingerie line on the front page of their website featuring five of the top plus-size models in the game: Ashley Graham, Danielle Redman, Inga Eiriksdottir, Julie Henderson, and Marquita Pring. After the Ford+ division closed down, these ladies decided to link up to create ALDA, a collaboration with IMG models that’s mission is to end division in beauty.
The Vogue feature is titled “Give me a D! Give me an F!” Because Gorgeous Bras Come in All Shapes and Sizes.” Shot by photographer Cass Bird, the ladies sport sexy pieces from Lane Bryant and L’Agent by Agent Provocateur. Ashley Graham, one of the featured models, unveils some of her own lingerie pieces for curvy women produced in collaboration with Addition Elle. Graham also reveals that she is working on workout videos for Youtube. “Honey, I’m building the empire—it’s happening right now.” said Graham.
