Chantelle Brown-Young, who goes by the nicknames Chantelle Winnie or Winnie Harlow is a 20-year-old Canadian model, unlike any other in the industry. Since the age of 4, Harlow has been suffering from vitiligo, a skin pigmentation disorder. While she used to be teased a lot by other children who called her “zebra” or “cow”, the little girl’s only wish was to become a model. At the age of 16, the Toronto native was discovered by a photographer when she was moving from Canada to California to pursue a modeling career. Today, Winnie Harlow is taking full advantage of her unusual appearance and made her dream come true. She has not only become a model and a candidate for the new season of America’s Next Top Model but most of all she has been proving that positivity and acceptance are key words in a world where beauty should not have just one face.
What are your thoughts about Chantelle Brown-Young’s story and how concerned do feel about vitiligo which is not curable?
