For weeks we’ve been wondering what the jurors were thinking throughout the trial and ultimately what led to Zimmerman’s acquittal. Well, juror #b37 sat down with Anderson Cooper and let it all hang out. She expressed her empathy for Zimmerman, believed race played no part in the shooting death of then 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, used the terms “they” and “their environment” in reference to Rachel Janteal’s testimony and dismissed her as a credible witness because she lacked “education” and “communication skills.” And to add insult to injury, a childless “b37” said she believed it was Zimmerman who was screaming in the now infamous 911 call and says she’d feel safe with him as a vigilante now because “he’s learned his lesson.” It is completely appalling that this culture bound, assuming woman who believed in Zimmerman’s innocence from the door had a role in releasing a murderer to the free world. Please listen to this woman and know that this is telling in terms of how the world views the black man.
