Multi-talented entertainer, Trinidad Cardona, is a rising star whose talents in rapping, singing, and dancing have pushed him into the spotlight. Initially discovered on social media, the 18-year-old Phoenix, AZ native is now a recording artist with Island Records. He’s currently plotting moves in the music industry and putting together his first project for next year.
Trinidad is mostly known for his viral single “Jennifer” which skyrocketed him into the public’s eye. The song discusses the ebbs and flows of relationships, pointing out the lessons that we learn from past situations. It speaks to the notion that every relationship, good or bad, teaches us something that we can use later on.
It took him only a day to write and record the song, paying $40 for his studio session. Since its release earlier this year, “Jennifer” has raked in over 1 million streams. The music video has done even better with over 16 million views. Not too bad for an 18-year-old kid with no team or budget.

Though Trinidad is happy about the success that he’s gained on his own merit, he’s glad that he now has additional support to help build his career. Since signing his deal, he’s decided to use his new resources to create something extraordinary. The decision to sign with Island Records was a strategic move to have a more intimate team with a wildly successful Pop artist roster (Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Nick Jonas) help push him further. Trinidad describes his music as being a fusion between Urban and Pop, so being at New Island means having access to the Pop market while being different enough to not get lost in the shuffle.
Before pursuing music, Trinidad fancied himself a photographer. He built his photography career using his computer and self-taught editing skills. However, after his computer died he stumbled across a lot of garbage online, made by amateur music artists going viral from what some people considered to be music. It was then that Trinidad decided that he could do better. He had been rapping for at least a year prior to creating “Jennifer.”
Currently, Trinidad is working on his first project, which he plans on dropping towards the beginning of new year. He’s not leaking any details but he was able to reveal that he’s been working hard in the studio and recently had a session with legendary producer Rodney Jerkins. It’s astonishing the amount of passion and determination that this young man exhibits for music. We’ll just have to wait and see what exciting new thing this rising star is going to produce next.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
