This past Friday, March 20th, I had the pleasure of attending Colour U Cosmetics’ event, The Art Of Colour U, at Blue Mark Studios! I had the most amazing time!
Upon entry you checked in and set foot into a lively atmosphere set by live disc jockey DJ GorJess! Everyone was dressed chic! The models wore all black and their faces had been beat by the talented artists of Colour U! Photo ops were around every corner! The lighting was beautiful and the focus was on the art of the MUAs. Drinks were available at the bar, and waiters/waitresses came around with an assortment of hors d’oeuvres including quiche, chicken salad, and vegetables with ranch dressing. It was appetizing and tastefully appropriate for the event. VIP was located downstairs. The products were available for purchase dead smack in the center of the floor. “The main stage” in a matter of speaking was given to the products themselves. They really did sell themselves because once you walked up to that table you saw an stay of colors, glitters, and more! You couldn’t help but want to try and buy them all each was so beautiful and the presentation was beautiful as well! Very neat and organized. There were people happy to assist in your choosing and purchasing with a guiding hand and a hearty smile.
The event really gave participants the chance to learn more about the CEO Karen Stallings and her journey. It also gave a chance for people to view the art of the MUAs both live and in the photographs on the walls and on the slideshow. As well as chance to purchase and try the products out for yourself. It was made sure that you were given a coupon even if no purchase was made.
The MC and hostess for the night was the beautiful Ebony Steele! She was welcoming and fun. She had been graced by the makeup artists who enhanced the beauty she already has. I need to go shopping with her because that plunging v neck, red jumpsuit she had on was EVERYTHING! She led the crowd in a raffle that had been given to each guest for a Keurig and also had Twitter Trivia about Mrs. Stallings.
She introduced Mrs. Stallings who was the epitome of beauty! She wore a black and white dress and of course her make up was as the young people say nowadays “on fleek!” She introduced her creative team. The team was one of my favorite parts of the night! They all were dressed in all white! They were friendly and just plain beautiful people! She introduced them all by both name and title. Among her MUAs she introduced: Kenyatta, Queen, Dion, LaiEisha, and team leader Tremele. She also introduced her district manager Natasha, human resources manager Lisa, project manager Askia, and public relations Deidre from Maylee Media. She made a point to introduce both her husband and daughter! She is a very proud wife and mother. You could tell when she referred to her husband, Bernell as her rib and support, and when she bragged about her beautiful daughter Chanel being a junior majoring in bio chemistry at Spelman! You can tell she has an awesome support system and relationship with her coworkers and family.
Among the many partners sponsors of the event was: Media Sponsor Cocoa Fab, Keurig, CoCo Studios, Chris Carouthers, The Connector, Sweetshot Cupcakes, Ladies with Vision, S&S Tax Service, and Sweet as Hunni Designs. There was a special live performance from singer, Antonio Ramsey from Miami, FL, his vocals serenaded the already melodious atmosphere with old hit songs like Knock in’ Da Boots
Freak Me, and Freakin U. At the end of the night it was made sure that everyone got a bag full of goodies.
I couldn’t have asked for a better time. I have fallen in love with Color U cosmetics. You should too. Check them out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and swing over to their website www.colourucosmetics.com
