3 Steps to Look Expensive

Even though my bank account maybe struggling at the moment. I am confident that it will not be that way for very much longer. Richer and comfier days are ahead of me. While this is my current reality, I don’t want to look like how my bank account feels. You know how the saying goes…”dress not where you are, but where you want to go.” Thus, as a future editor I have to step my style game all the way up while not breaking the bank.

The great thing is it does not take much to look expensive. At the end of the day, it is not about how much money you spend on your clothes or having the season’s latest “it” bag. Rather, it is following the three tips I will share below and putting your best food forward every day.

  1. Be Pressed-This one is important, but also very simple. It’s also a virtue that my Granny instilled in me since birth. Make sure that your clothes are properly steamed and iron. If you have busy mornings, do it the night before. Do not go out of the door wrinkly.

  1. K.I.S.S- This acronym stands for, “Keep It Simple Sweetie”. In reality, most fast-fashion retailers’ trend and/or patterned items are not designed very well. Thus, it is in your best interest to load up on quality and well-fitting basics. A good fit and a classic silhouette screams that you are well ‘put-together’.

  1. Structure- Structure is vital when pulling off a polished look. This means invest (i.e. splurge) on tailored items like a trench coat, blazer or tote. Adding these finishing touches to your outfit will bring all of your style elements together.
