Kitchen goods are now becoming very popular in the beauty world. Whether we’re using Greek yogurt with strawberries added for a delicious at home facial or conditioning our dry tresses with extra virgin olive oil, these easy do-it-yourself treatments are just as good, obviously more affordable, than what we’d pay for at the beauty counter.
During your trip to the supermarket, we suggest you try five grocery stores items to add some fun to your beauty regimen.
Apple cider vinegar has so many great benefits. This supermarket all-star can be used as face toner to prevent breakouts and minimize blemishes. It can also be used as a hair rinse to wash away product buildup, reduces frizz, and simulates the scalp to promote hair growth.
Why spend your money on pricey lip scrubs when you can make your own at home. If your lips are feeling dry and chapped, some brown sugar mixed with a small amount of honey will do the trick.
Baking soda is great for whiting teeth when added to tooth paste and doubles as a face scrub. (Try a coconut oil and baking soda face scrub, you’ll love it!)
Have yet to find an impressive toner? Try Dickinsons witch hazel, it works to reduce redness and clear skin.
Coconut oil is the best thing ever! It’s great as a body moisturizer and hair mask. You’ll love using solid coconut oil on your hair because it’s light weight and penetrates deeply. (Try a coconut oil and egg hair mask before shampooing hair. The protein found in both products strengthens your hair.)
What are some supermarket items you swear by?
The Witch Hazel works wonders! And the Apple Cider Vinegar can double as helping with weight loss but it’s DISGUSTING both in taste/smell!!
Nice! Will be trying!
I’m up on the apple cider vinegar but will try the others. Brown sugar and honey sounds delish. I’m gonna check that Coconut oil. I’m always in Whole Foods trying to come up with some concoctions.
My grandma made me brush my teeth w/ baking soda sometimes too lol
Yes to coconut oil!..Ugh my grandma use to make me brush with baking soda when I spent the night over her house..so gross!! lol hated it
I use the ACV, Witch Hazel and Coconut Oil. While the oil does little for my hair, but make it shiny, the ACV does wonders for my natural hair and skin. Witch Hazel is also a really good toner after exfoliating!
I’m going to have try apple cider vinegar. I’ve been hearing a lot about it’s great benefits.
I love using household products for my beauty regime.
