While you’re there, you can always pop down to Lough Tay, Wicklow, Ireland, and check out the backdrop for the hit show “Vikings.”
New York, USA
Where to begin with New York? So many of our most famous TV shows have been set in the Big Apple that you’re sure to feel like you’ve been here before, even if you haven’t.
Of course, New York was home to one of the most famous TV romances of all time between Ross and Rachel in “Friends,” so perhaps when wandering around the city, you will finally find the answer to the eternal question – were they on a break?
Hampshire, UK
Over to England, where you can take in the scenery of the quintessentially British show, “Downton Abbey.”
While the show was filmed in lots of locations throughout the UK, the main backdrop is Highclere Castle, located just a short drive from Newbury. The stunning castle is open to the public, so you can tour the grand old home and imagine yourself on the set.
Again, there are lots of different TV shows filmed in the UK, but if you wanted an altogether different TV show experience, then you can always head up to Birmingham, home of the infamous “Peaky Blinders.”
Oahu, Hawaii
If you don’t fancy the English weather, then you can jet off to somewhere altogether more tropical in the shape of Hawaii.
The iconic TV show, “Lost” was filmed here, so you can get your fill of TV backgrounds while also enjoying one of the most famous holiday destinations in the world. This is perhaps as close to paradise as it gets, so sit back and relax as you enjoy the good life.
Albuquerque, USA
For the “Breaking Bad” fans among us, Albuquerque, New Mexico will need no introduction. Yet another TV show that took the world by storm, the story of Walter White, chemistry teacher turned drug dealer played out around the streets of this great city, and you too can tread the same streets.
While you will undoubtedly be able to get your fill of TV backdrops, there’s also plenty to do around Albuquerque, and it makes for a great getaway.
