Different people deal with different types of addictions including common ones such as drug and alcohol addictions. The way that an addiction can affect a family can vary, as well. It is important for you to figure out if you have an addiction that you should be concerned about, and for you to then try to find a way of dealing with that addiction and overcoming it.


  1. Know What Your Addiction is Costing Those Around You


Before you can start to work on overcoming your addiction, you need to have a reason for wanting to overcome it. You need to see the problems that your addiction is bringing about and the way that it is hurting those that you care about. Look at your family and try to see the ways that they are being affected by your addiction.
