When it comes to celebrity deaths, 2016 has truly taken the cake! Entertainers, trailblazers, and people dearly loved the world over are leaving this world sooner and quicker than any of us can imagine. Sadly, we now have to add Angela “Big Ang” Raiola to that disheartening list.
Big Ang, as you may already know, rose to fame on VH-1’s hit reality series, Mob Wives. There, she often served as peacemaker and godmother to her younger cast mates who were content with squabbling and fighting. Big Ang’s larger than life personality, love of plastic surgery, raspy voice, and no bullshit approach to life has earned her the love and admiration of millions.
The reality star lost her battle with brain and lung cancer earlier this morning. “I am saddened to say that at 3:01 a.m., Ang lost her battle with cancer,” stated Jennifer Graziano, creator and executive producer of Mob Wives.” “She passed peacefully surrounded by friends and family.” Big Ang is survived by her son, Anthony Donofrio; her daughter, Raquel Donofrio; and two grandchildren. Truly cancer sucks and we hope soon–actually sooner than soon–that there will be some cure for this misery. We know for sure television just will not be the same, but Heaven just got a little brighter. Rest in peace Ang, we will miss you.
