Faith Evans is back at work and collaborating with the one and only Notorious B.I.G for a new upcoming album! The R&B songstress recently announced she is in the middle of putting the finishing touches to the album entitled The King & I. Evans also advises us that the new project will be greater than the average.
“Today, if he was alive, I know, ultimately, we would’ve done something like this,” Evans says during an interview with The Dame Dash Show. “But the way the stuff has come together, and the way I’m using his vocals, it’s giving the stuff new life. It’s totally different.”
Evans and Biggie were married when he was killed in Los Angeles March 1997. The two did collaborate prior to his passing on his 1994 hit “One More Chance.” Evans also teamed with Diddy in 1997 for the tribute to the late rapper “I’ll Be Missing You.”
The King & I is set to feature different people interacting with Biggie Smalls whether it was on projects, interludes or interviews. The collaboration is targeted to be released in September and once completed Evans has creative plans when it comes on revealing the material from the collection.
“We actually are in development with a hologram, but I don’t necessarily know to what extent I’m gonna perform with it,” she says. “But I definitely want to debut it probably in the first video for the album, and maybe use it a little bit performing live. But that depends on a lot of things.”
On top of the collaborative album Evans also wrote a stage play based on her relationship with Biggie inspired on the content of her book, Keep the Faith: A Memoir. Will you be tuning in for the collaborative album between the dynamic duo?
