The gladiator sandal started as a trend, but in today’s fashion world, this strappy shoe is becoming a stylish staple in every celebrity wardrobe. Slipping on this shoe is like strapping up for combat, but in reality, gladiator sandals can easily kick an outfit up a few notches on the style meter. Check out how some of our favorite celebrities are strutting the gladiator sandal this spring.

Ciara wore caramel-colored, studded gladiator sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti to this year’s Coachella. She paired the knee-high sandal with a matching suede mini skirt and a white button down.
Zendaya wore striking gladiator sandals by Fausto Puglisi to the 2016 Grammys. She paired the buckled shoe with a black gown and edgy belt.

Kendall Jenner loves a good gladiator, so much so the second youngest of the Kardashian clan wore two styles of tan gladiator sandals to Coachella 2016. Kendall wore a suede, lace up pair by Aquazzura with a cream crochet dress, and another pair of lacy sandals by Saint Laurent with jean shorts and a black crop top.

Solange Knowles rocked a pair of laser cut Karlyanna gladiators by Schutz during New York Fashion Week, but since then we’ve seen a host of other celebrities rocking the same $395 pair in different colors.

Let’s not forget our girl Rihanna, who shocked the world with her “Work” video. In the flick, the Bajan gal wore metallic-gold Giuseppe Zanotti gladiator sandals as she wined it up to the beat. If you want to get your work on like Rih, these babies will cost you a pretty penny of $1,295. You can order them at Neiman Marcus.
