Meet Dyson. A super sweet singer and songwriter from a small town in the south of England who has made her way to Los Angeles, California to pursue her music career – and yes, she has the awesome accent as well (because I know you were all wondering).
Dyson just recently released her latest single “Up All Night,” an upbeat pop song that has received a lot of positive feedback so far! One of the producers who Dyson collaborated with on this record was Anthony Preston, who is known for having worked with some of the biggest artists in the industry including Justin Bieber, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and more.
“He’s incredible! He’s a genius – a bit crazy, and has very infectious energy!” Dyson tells Kontrol when asked about working with Preston.
The English artist tells us she is currently doing a lot of promotions out in Scandinavia, where she says she has built a pretty solid fan base so far from writing hit records for other artists. She is also working on a lyric video for “Up All Night,” and has some big plans for the real video after.
“We have Ray Kay, the Norwegian video director who did ‘Baby’ for Bieber and is incredible, who says he’s ready to work on the video as soon as we are. We’ve spent two years on my whole project, so we are taking everything really slowly and making sure it’s perfect,” Dyson shares.
Dyson is extremely talented in both writing and singing, and has a hard time choosing one to put over the other, as many similar artists battle with as well. She tells Kontrol about this struggle, saying, “It’s tough because writing is sort of therapy for me, so it’s very necessary; but there’s nothing like singing on a stage. That feeling of when you can actually connect with a crowd with a song that you’ve written, I think it’s priceless. So singing has to be the winner.”
Dyson also tells us how important it is for her to have a genuine voice and always be able to deliver a live performance.
“I don’t have to really depend on too many effects or anything, I really believe in the beauty of a natural voice.”
Dyson’s to-do list for the next couple of months consists of touring in Scandinavia, and “meet as many humans as possible.” She also has a few collaborations coming out, including her new single that will be released worldwide called ‘Feel Like Home’ with Sander Kleinenberg. As far as the singer’s long-term goals, Dyson tells Kontrol, “I want to be able to share my whole album, to be on tour and just to share everything, and have the ability to travel over the world. Also, to be a household name and to perform everyday – if I could do that my life would be complete.”
