“About Last Night” has set the bar high when it comes to Romantic Comedies for the 2014 movie season. Set in the backdrop of Los Angeles; a city known for making and breaking stars with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, we are taken on a journey of real people who make decisions and follow through with them regardless of what others think and what may happen in the end.
A remake of 1986’s film of the same name, Will Packer’s “About Last Night” allows us an opportunity to see into the ups and downs of relationships and dating as we follow a lovelorn Danny (Michael Ealy), career focused Debbie (Joy Bryant), emotionally detached Bernie (Kevin Hart) and the ultimate straight shooter in Joan played by Regina Hall.
“About Last Night“ is nothing short of hilarious; it touches on controversial topics such as one night stands, sex without relationship boundaries and the idea of cohabitating with someone after a short period of time.
Watching the film definitely made me want to pass notes to men that I’ve dated in the past as well as any future beau who may be interested in courting me. The ability to defy the norms set by today’s society and step out on faith is something endearing and genuine that will help captivate audiences and potentially propel “About Last Night” to a number one spot.
