Aerie, the lingerie retailer, and intimate apparel, sub brand owned by American Eagle Outfitters. Targets the American 15-to-25 year old female demographic.
Aerie Encourages Self Love
Aerie has long been a champion for inclusivity. With its body diverse imagery, unretouched ad campaigns, and models of all ethnic backgrounds. The brand is building on its commitment to save a wide range of people with their latest collection of nude bras and underwear.

Aerie’s Real Me Collection
The Real Me Collection offers a range of lingerie basics, that includes lightly lined bras, thongs, and briefs. The brand is launching five new hues meant to reflect a diverse range of skin tones. The names of the new shades, Honesty, Inspiration, Strength, Energy, and Confidence. Are a quality they see and hope to instill in their customer. Aerie is the latest mass brand to expand its definition of “nude” in lingerie. Target revamped its selection earlier this year as well. In addition, labels like Nubian Skin, Nudest, and Naja are just a few of the companies who are following suit. Lingerie companies are finally answering the cry for under represented skin tones in their selections.

Aerie’s Real Me Collection Is Available Now!
The Real Me Collection launched earlier this summer, however, the new shades dropped online August 31st. The collection ranges in price from $15 to $40. And will feature bralettes and bodysuits to go along with the line of basics. The collection features a small script to reflect the message of self-love. “We are excited about the Real Me Collection because it goes beyond color— Furthermore, it offers a beautiful palette that includes a wide range of nudes. Also, the amazing second skin soft fabric of these bras lets you feel like your REAL self,” says Jennifer Foyle, Aerie’s Global Brand President.
Because of the outpouring of love and fan appreciation. I wouldn’t be surprised if more and more companies decide to take the leap towards inclusivity. There’s no doubt about it, this one’s for us!
