Well, of course with great statistics as such, a reality show is among us in a few days. Tracey Edmonds (co-host of Extra & film producer) is bringing forth a business competition show targeting African American female entrepreneurs titled “Queen Boss”.
Queen Boss is all about empowering women entrepreneurs.
In this 8-episode reality competition series of “Beg, Borrow or Deal”, 18 entrepreneurs will take their skills to the next level in the chance of winning the grand prize of $25,000 and the title of Queen Boss. This show is taking one start-up company and giving them the opportunity of a lifetime by giving them funding and priceless advice. The contestants will be mentored, challenged and put to the test throughout the competition by a panel of celebrities and successful entrepreneurs in hopes of becoming Queen Boss. Each week, 3 new female entrepreneurs will step into the “Queen Boss Conference Room” and pitch their products and ideas to a panel of judges including Vanessa Simmons (Project Runway), Lauren Lake (Paternity Court TV), Robin Wilson (Robin Wilson Home), Carla Hall (The Chew), Mikki Taylor (former beauty editor of Essence Magazine), Lisa Price (founder of Carol’s Daughter), Rakia Reynolds (Skai Blue Media), Angela Benton (NewME), and Kandi Burruss (Real Housewives of Atlanta).
Each episode of Queen Boss features two rounds of competition. In Round 1, three of the competing entrepreneurs pitch their individual products to the judges who then deliberate with the host (Tracey Edmonds) and eliminate one of the three entrepreneurs from the competition. In round 2, the remaining two entrepreneurs are then competing against each other in a business challenge. The business challenges include executing the picture-perfect elevator pitch, out-trading the local professionals in the SoHo flea market scene, and creating a viral and strategic marketing on social media. can show the judges they have the passion, creativity, and brains to win. The 6 winners return for a semi-final and final round episodes, as the judges narrow the field and ultimately select one woman to win the grand prize of $25,000 to get her business off the ground.
