Fox definitely knows it has a mega hit on its hands with Empire. Perhaps that is why the network is allowing Lee Daniels to make a spin off of the amazing series as a prequel based on Cookie Lyon. The rumors about this spin off have swirled for months, igniting fan theories and speculation that rival Marvel movies! We are not quite sure what the exact story line will be about but we know for sure one lucky lady will be making an appearance. Does the name Amiyah Scott, AKA “King Amiyah” ring a bell? Yep, this entertainer and transgender woman created a lot of buzz this year when it was falsely reported that she would be joining the cast of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Unfortunately for her, this all turned out to be one big rumor, quickly (and hilariously) debunked by Nene Leakes.
Amiyah may have lost out on becoming a housewife, but getting a role on an Empire spin off is so much better! She dropped a hint on Twitter that she was moving on to better things with the following picture:
It looks like Amiyah is ready to give Laverne Cox a run for her money (maybe not, lol) but we do wish her the best in the endeavor. The question is, however, are audiences going to be receptive to her? And is this a guest appearance or a contract role? According to TMZ, she will be the member of a girl group. Maybe that is how Cookie and Lucious met? He spotted her singing or producing a girl group? Who knows!? We will keep you posted!
