We live in a brave, new world. A world where you can love and marry whomever you like, A Black Man and a woman can become Presidents, and where the image of a boss has changed dramatically! Whereas just thirty years ago, the typical boss was older, Caucasian, and male; nowadays bosses come in all ages, races, and women are making some ferocious fiscal gains in the business world. Nowadays a boss chick may seem as common as an Uber driver, but that is where you would be wrong; as a real businesswoman knows it is her moves and gains that dictate her time and passion. No boss chick seems to grasp this like Angela Simmons. Angela is a young woman wearing many hats, and she surprisingly is able to manage them all! “It’s all about time management and doing what you have to do…you make a decision that this is what’s got to get done and get right to it…”
Angela Simmons is nothing short of amazing an exceptional. She is a self-described and proven master multitasker and all around great person. Whereas being in business and the entertainment industry can dim one’s outlook on life, this lovely lady has let her own inner light and great work ethic build brands that reach millions. One might argue her success is largely attributed to the famous family she comes from which boasts her father, Rev Run, and uncle, Russell Simmons. The world was officially introduced to Angela via MTV’s hit reality series, Run’s House, where she alongside her parents and siblings made their mark as one of TV’s most beloved families. Later, she and her older sister, Vanessa, gained their own spinoff in Daddy’s Little Girls as they moved cross country to pursue their own dreams, ambitions, and lives beyond their father’s shadow. “I’ve definitely learned a lot from them [her father and uncle]…honestly how could I not? They know so much about business and the industry and I’m really blessed to have that kind of wisdom in my life…”

Angela has definitely succeeded in moving from under her family’s shadow by becoming a powerhouse in her own right. Despite her age, Angela is a veteran in the business world and entertainment industry, having spent years running various companies that include Pastry Footwear and a magazine Angela’s Rundown in the past. Currently, her business ventures include her faux fur line, Foofi, and her highly anticipated return to reality television in WeTv’s Growing Up Hip-Hop.WE tv’s Growing Up Hip-Hop. Foofi, named after her adorable toy poodle, has been met with rave reviews, for its stylish, chic, and high quality. The material actually feels like real fur! The success of the line can be attributed to Ms. Simmons’ hands on modus operandi when it comes to her businesses. “A lot of people don’t know just how hands on you have to be with a fashion line, or any business you’re tied to for that matter…you have to pick out the materials, approve the designs, market it…there’s just a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make a product a success…”
Growing Up Hip-Hop may seem like just another reality show in a long line of them to grace—or rather disgrace—the television landscape in the name of hip-hop. Surprisingly, it is quite the opposite, showcasing the next generation of a few of hip-hops famous families as they try to move beyond their families’ shadows and blaze their own paths in the world. The show features Ms. Simmons alongside Romeo Miller, the son of rapper and music mogul Master P, Damon “Boogie” Dash, son of music mogul and former CEO of Roc-A-Fella Damon Dash, Kristinia DeBarge, daughter of James DeBarge of the controversial R&B group, DeBarge, Egypt Criss, daughter of Peppa from the rap duo Salt-N-Peppa and rap star, Treach from Naughty By Nature and finally, TJ Mizell, son of the late and great DJ, Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. Angela not only stars in the series, but is also the executive producer.
Naturally rumors have swirled concerning Angela and the show. Two of them involve Kristinia and Romeo. The blogosphere alleges there is a growing beef between Kristinia and our favorite master multitasker. Thankfully, she quickly sets the record straight. “Me and Kristinia? We’re cool. There’s no issue there. She’s a great girl and a lot of fun.” Rumors of love have been buzzing and it alleges Romeo and Angela are together! This is not the first time romantic rumors have swirled concerning the pair, but their time on the show seems to have refueled the suspicions. Angela, however, remains mum on the issue. “[Angela laughs] You will just have to watch the show and see…” Be sure you catch Growing Up Hip-Hop, Tonight on WeTV. Issue on Sale January 29, 2016
