The return of TRL is in full effect! But get this for one day only. The top rated MTV show that ignited a whole generation for ten years is only coming back for the star power that is Ariana Grande.
On July 2, 2014 former MTV host Sway will be returning to his old stomping grounds to host a 30-minute special properly titled Total Ariana Live. Where Grande will perform her newst single “Problem“ and then debut her next single “Break Free.”
Charlie Walk, executive vp Republic Records stated:
“Only one artist has the power to turn the lights back on at 1515 Broadway in the iconic ‘TRL’ studios, and that’s Ariana Grande. The transformation to ‘Total Ariana Live’ represents her one-of-a-kind star power combined with MTV’s immense multimedia platform, setting the stage for the ultimate global partnership.”
Ariana was quoted:
“It’s a huge honor to be able to bring back a show like ‘TRL,’ I used to love watching it growing up. Can’t wait to celebrate with my loves in Times Square. Might have some surprises too,”
The joys of seeing the iconic studio lite up again for even one day will be a moment to remember for all former TRL fans. Ariana is definitely the artist to make this happen for a new generation. One can only imagine if this could be the chance to revive the once #1 dominate music countdown show.
