Damon Dash can’t seem to stay out of trouble with this legal battle between ex-wife Rachel Roy. Now the former music mogul has a warrant out for his arrest.
Dame was ordered to pay over $300,000 by a New York judge for back child support, other related fees, and broken divorce agreement fees to Roy. If Dame didn’t pay, he was to have an issued warrant, and according to his Instagram he was everywhere but paying off that $300+ debt.
In a contempt hearing Wednesday in Manhattan Supreme Court, Judge Matthew Cooper ordered that Dash either pay $341,999.16 to Roy, or be arrested. Roy’s attorney, Donnell Suares, said Dash owes $91,249 in back child support, school and camp fees, and another $250,750 in debts Roy said she had to pay when Dash broke their divorce agreement by not paying the mortgages their New York homes.
“He failed on his default,” the judge said. “He has failed to appear.”
“I will issue a warrant,” Judge Cooper continued, “unless he can avoid arrest by purging contempt, and the purge is $341,999.”
Dame has also been ordered to pay $25,000 of Rachel’s $40,000 legal fees by Judge Cooper.
Ouch! That’s A LOT of money to cough up. Divorce is expensive and it looks like there is no other way they will resolve their issues until Dame pays out all of that money.
