We are down to two episodes before Empire’s epic first season finale! The drama and tension has skyrocketed weekly as The Lyons make their mark on the music industry, and each other, in the pursuit of power, love, and legacy! Well just when you thought you were going to see all you can see, director Lee Daniels confirms some major stars will be making appearances on his new hit show.
As you may already know, Jennifer Hudson will be on the show for a three episode arc as Andre Lyon’s music therapist and possibly new love interest. She is “Michelle,” someone who sees the goodness and purity within the straight laced, yet troubled Lyon son. Making guest appearances are Patti LaBelle and Rita Ora! These amazing songstresses are sure to deliver us some great performances and hopefully some collaborations with Jamal or Hakeem Lyon (Jussie Smollett and Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, respectively).
Perhaps the most dynamic appearance comes in Season 2 as both Denzel Washington and Lenny Kravitz are in talks with Lee to be on the show! “It’s about his schedule.” Lee says about Denzel “I’ve got to lure him in with my fishhook, but he is really a great support of the show and Lenny Kravitz is going to be on the show, hopefully. We’re going to make sure we try and create a story line for him.” It’s going to be a long summer without the Lyons, but this Fall will be nothing short of spectacular! Stay tuned!
