Beauty Editor Weekly Recap: Women’s EXPO, Naturallycurly + More!

This weekend was very eventful and fun! Atlanta had a lot to offer beauty lovers!

Derek Blanks 40th Birthday Celebration

Covering the red carpet to celebrate the talented photographer Derek Blanks 40th Birthday was fun! It was a stunned star event because everyone was in attendance! Hosted by the beautiful ladies the dope comedian “yesimprettyvee” and top model Toccara Jones. Atlanta’s elite joined such as Karlie Redd, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, DJ Traci Steele and Julian Lark. Magically moments were captured by musical vocalists Vivian Green and Fantasia! Happy Birthday again to Derek Blanks!

Atlanta Ultimate Women’s Expo

The Atlanta Women’s Expo was a bittersweet event. Although they had great headliners from Valerie Bertinelli, Monica, Kim Zolciak, T-Boz, Rasheeda, to Kenya Moore! The event lacked in beauty for women of color and natural hair. Yes, it was my first event and people must request to become vendors. Hopefully, next year in attendance there will be a balance of beauty and hair brands for all women.

Brands that I enjoyed at the expo were:

These brands had wonderful products! I loved both of their lipsticks. Very pigmented, soothing, and creamy formulas.

One of my favorite salons in Atlanta, since my first visit; The Southern Curl. Hosted founder and author Michele Bender book release. Bender is known for her awesome book “Curly Girl The Handbook.” Yet, people are not aware of how great this book is.

Naturallycurly confirms this book will:

  • Identify their hair’s texture type
  • Build an ideal hair-care regimen that suits their unique waves, curls, and coils
  • Learn about the critical role of ingredients
  • Find the right haircuts and styles
  • Be inspired by the voices of the curling community
