Eyme Santos is a multi-faceted talent who’s ready to take on the world by storm. With her many talents from music to fashion, this star on the rise may have just struck gold. Recently chosen as the winner of Rémy Martin’s 2016 Circle of Centaurs Music Mentorship Competition, get the inside scoop on what this up and coming artist has going on after her big win.
“It couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m beyond excited but most of all humbled and thankful for the opportunity to be able to receive the support of a major brand like Rémy Martin. My goal was to show them and the world that I am serious about my dreams and to be chosen as the winner has been my favorite moment of 2016.”
Rémy Martin’s Circle of Centaurs Mentorship program is an extension of the brands One Life/Live Them campaign that recognizes and celebrates individuals’ many talents. Mentoring the next generation is an important part of Rémy Martin’s past, as their cellar masters passed down their knowledge and expertise to the next. The program aims to inspire and shape the minds of individuals to be the best artist they can be. Santos was selected as the competition winner in the category of singing and will be mentored by Circle of Centaurs Ambassador, actor/singer/photographer Jackie Cruz. Cruz will not only mentor Santos but will also share her insights, advice and personal experiences working in the entertainment industry.
“I’m beyond excited about that! Being Latina is something we both share, I am part Dominican and part Haitian and she is Dominican so being able to learn from a strong woman who shares the same culture as I am is very inspiring. Jackie Cruz is someone who I truly admire and I hope to be able to soak in as much wisdom as possible because I think it is very important to be open to learning from courageous souls who are paving the way. They have conquered many battles and as the student eager to succeed I’m ready to learn.”
A resident of Miramar, FL, Santos is currently working on an original EP entitled “Nights in the 305”.
“Nights in the 305 is a short story in an EP format exploring the struggles of a city girl from Miami who finds herself stuck in a love triangle. You will get to experience her story both sonically and visually. I am planning on creating a short film scored with 8 original songs of which I am currently recording and shaping. It will drop via eymexy.com, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, and all online stores summer 2017.”
Santos goes on to explain her eclectic style of music.
“R&B has always been my first love which is why my tone is Soulful, however, I’m very experimental when it pertains to creativity and I enjoy projecting a more progressive sound. I stay true to the rules of music since I play the piano but really enjoy experimenting with melodies and creating rhythms that feel familiar but sound completely new.”
With a dope style all of her own, Santos goes on to tell of someone special she admired in the business and is a true role model to many new artists and old.
“Aaliyah will always be my first choice, She is a woman who was able to capture her supporters by simply being herself. Someone who didn’t sell sex but sold style. I truly admire her work ethic and the fact that she excelled in many areas. What her legacy taught me is that I want to be a woman who is respected in the same way and who can also inspire the same way.”
On top of her busy schedule, constantly recording, and building her music portfolio, this multi-talented singer is a well-rounded artist of all trades. From photography to graphic and fashion design, Santos really has her hands in everything creative.
“I have an addiction to all things creative hahaha! I do take joy in creating in these avenues as well. I attended Miami International University of Art and Design in 2009 which is where I picked up my design skills and fashion direction. I’m truly thankful to the highest for granting me so many talents. I am in fact developing a women’s top clothing line (XY SPORTS) exclusively for the EP, with a very dope creative associate and friend Mwanel who’s a Haitian Artist. All the looks we create will be featured in Nights in the 305 content and EP and sold via eymexy.com.”
Speaking of fashion, if you haven’t visited her Instagram then you are definitely missing out. Santos’s style is just as eclectic as her many talents. Minimalistic with a dash of tomboy flavor, Santos goes on to give a little rundown of her personal taste in fashion.
“For me, fashion is an extension of who we are, it is another outlet where we can express our personal style or even mood. I’m an entrepreneur so it is imperative for me to be comfortable but I love to be modern and ahead with how I style myself. My style is minimalistic and tomboyish 99% of the time.”
With a dope style of her own, Santo’s is also lending a helpful hand to a menswear collection she and boyfriend Mister Delamont have been working on.
“Besides my music venture I am working on a menswear line with my boyfriend Mister Delamont (www.mrdelamont.com), called M A I S O N M O N T R U H (House of Mantra) it is a high fashion urban line and is currently in production and will be available March 2017.”
With a booming career sure to be on the rise in 2017, Santos explains her reason for being so humble and motivated to keep pushing towards her ultimate dream.
“Because I almost passed away at birth, being alive keeps me motivated. Being able to wake up every day and breathe or be able to call someone I love and hear their voice is what keeps me excited and eager to wake up another day. Nobody has a perfect life but it can be whatever you want it to be if you believe in yourself and work hard. Life is precious to me and the ultimate experience so every day I make it count and stay focused on reaching my goals.”
Eyme Santos is dope beyond all measures. Everything about her just spells out the word. From winning Rémy Martin’s Circle of Centaurs competition to being mentored by well-rounded artists like Jackie Cruz, and fashion/musical genius Pharell Williams during her X Factor competition days. Santos’s future in the entertainment industry is bright. So bright in fact, the world better be ready for what this starlet has to come
