Betsey Johnson goes BIG for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: SWIM

Fashion icon Betsey Johnson, all ways does it BIG and this past weekend was no different. Betsey Johnson hosted a dazzling evening, full of fun and flare to launch her new SS14 swimwear collection during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: SWIM in Miami on July 20, 2013. The evening brought together fashion’s most fabulous for a night of cocktails on the whimsical rooftop of The Betsy Hotel. A local Miami DJ lit up the night with scintillating tunes while guests were treated to an exclusive first look at Betsey Johnson’s new collection. The evening also celebrated the announcement of Betsey’s new partnership with innovative swimwear manufacturer, Malibu Design Group.

For the new Betsey Johnson swim line, the design team at MDG felt there is was no greater inspiration than Betsey herself.  Using her infectious energy, quirky sensibility and great love of color to drive the design direction, MDG has infused the collection with a modern twist based on current trends, extensive travels, and great vintage finds. Full of ruffles, bows, peplums, embellishments, and sheer mesh inserts, the collection is truly Betsey-licious!

Betsey comments: “My swim is for the young and the forever young! It’s fun and flirty and a little bit rock and roll. I want my girls to feel good in my suits so it’s also all about the fit!”

I have always been a BIG fan of Betsey and this show helped take that love to another level.  Betsey worked the roof top greeting her guest and taking pictures with everyone. She was very personable and up beat.  Take a look below.
