Finding the products that meet your specific hair care needs can be challenging, especially when you don’t know where to start. A lot of popular natural hair care lines are White-owned and they do the minimum, but it’s hard to create a hair care line that will facilitate Black hair health and growth…if you aren’t Black. Here’s a list of Black-owned hair care lines for all kinky, curly and wavy textures:

CURLS

CURLS was founded in 2002 by Mahisha Dellinger. The line includes products for wavy, kinky and curly hair textures and all of the products contain organic ingredients. CURLS products can be found at stores such as Target, Sally’s, Rite Aid and CVS.

Karen’s Body Beautiful

Karen’s Body Beautiful was founded by Karen Tappin. The products contain no harmful ingredients (sulfates, parabens, silicones). Best sellers include: Hair Blossom Moisture Mist, Luscious Locks Hair Mask, Sweet Ambrosia Leave-in Conditioner and the Super Duper Hydrating Hair Cream. This line is is made of all-natural ingredients. Karen’s Body Beautiful Products can be found at Kroger, Target, Sally’s, and independent beauty supply stores nationwide.

Kinky-curly

Kinky-Curly’s products are all natural. Kinky-Curly recommends using the Come Clean Shampoo, Knot Today to detangle and the Curly Custard to style. These products contain preservatives to prevent mold and bacteria from forming, however does not contain any alcohol or silicone. Kinky-Curly products can be purchased on the website or select retail locations depending on your city.

Miss Jessie’s

Miss Jessie’s was founded by Miko and Titi Branch on 2004 and the brand is named after their grandmother Miss Jessie Mae Branch. Miss Jessie’s is known for its expertise in styling curly, kinky and wavy hair textures. Some of the company’s first products include Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding (enhances curly hair and makes it shine), Curly Meringue (holds the curls of curly hair in place longer), Curly Buttercreme and Baby Buttercreme. Naturalicious

Naturalicious was founded by Gwen Jimmere. The line promotes natural and organic hair care. The products contain no sulfates, parabens, mineral oils, petroleum or gluten. TGIN (Thank God It’s Natural)

TGIN was founded by Chris-Tia Donaldson. The products are made with natural ingredients.
