After being “quiet for four years” Shad Moss formerly known as Bow Wow has decided to leave Cash Money records. The rapper announced the news to his fans, May 9, via a video posted to Facebook.
Bow Wow noted his respect for the Cash Money CEO Birdman, he said, “This is a man who took a risk on signing me. Not only that, but a person who opened up his space to me.”
The former 106 and Park host said the split is a “peaceful situation.” Bow Wow expressed, “I have so much music that needs to be heard and that wants to be heard by my fans and I just feel like it’s not fair…”
The “Fresh Az I’m Iz” rapper will be going back to where it all started, with his mentors mega-producer Jermaine Dupri and Snoop Dogg.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club, DJ Khaled revealed he isn’t signed with Cash Money either, and hasn’t been for a while.
“I’m not on Cash Money right now. I’m been off for minute,” he said. The “How Many Times” hit maker explained there are no harsh feelings between the two sides. “It’s not like I’m here to promote that, I’m not that type of person. Lil Wayne and Birdman that’s family, y’all know that, the world knows that. For now it’s We the Best. Nothing negative, everything is beautiful.”
