#CelebrityCrush- Rutina Wesley

Queen Sugar is back for a second season and we could not be happier! Yep, that means more drama from The Bordelon Siblings; our favorite of which is Nova, who just so happens to be played by actress, Rutina Wesley. Rutina has only been in the game for a little over a decade now, but has a knack for landing major roles on popular series like True Blood, Arrow, and as aforementioned Queen Sugar.

Besides her amazing acting skills we truly see Rutina Wesley is a beautiful, statuesque woman, who makes us gaga whenever she walks on screen that is why she is this week’s Celebrity Crush!

Rutina first came on our radar in the dance film, How She Move, but stole our hearts as “Tara” in her hilarious first scene of HBO’s True Blood check it out below:

Rutina currently plays “Nova,” the eldest of The Bordelon Siblings on Queen Sugar. As Nova she is a free-spirited journalist who reports on police brutality and corruption all while trying to save her father’s sugar farm alongside her brother Ralph-Angel and sister, Charlie. Her character has been critically acclaimed for her realness, earthy nature, and most of all strong spirit. She dares to be different on every level–spiritually, sexually, emotionally–and we lover her and her #BlackGirlMagic!

Now when it comes to her physical beauty, Rutina is a sister who should be a supermodel for #MelaninMonday! The girl is dark and beautiful with chocolate skin that is as smooth as butter. Then there is that amazing body of hers that screams strong! Rutina is cut! She definitely have been cast in the Black Panther movie as either Shuri or one of The Dora Milaje. We definitely cannot wait to see what Season 2 of Queen Sugar has in store for us and what other wonders this goddess will be bringing to the Silver Screen and Big Screen!

Hey Mikey!

WHO AM I? That’s probably what you’re thinking? It’s simple I’m this generation’s “Dear Abby!” I was raised in the Fourth Ward of Atlanta, educated in the School of Hard Knocks, and rescued by the concrete and steel of New York City. Life at best will always be bittersweet. The sooner you accept that, the better off you’ll be. I’d prefer to be on your sweeter side. Everyone needs a listening ear, extra shoulder, and open arms when life gets rough. I’m your new best friend, where it all goes south remember I’m a mouse click or tweet away. Hang in there kids, you’re gonna love kickin’ it with me!!! -Michael Jonvier
