A midst all the MMG beef yesterday, Wale used the negative spot light as the perfect platform to be the driving force behind his new single ‘The Followers’. Following his lengthy, yet eloquent response to Meek Mill via Instagram, Folarin took to twitter to announce the debut of the single.

To no surprise Wale is serving that work we so desperately need. His effortlessly unapologetic, ‘Intellectual Rebel’ attitude is dripping from every verse. The song is filled with heavy hitting lines from beginning to end. Some may speculate that many of these jewels Mr. Folarin is gifting listeners with, are directed at his MMG colleagues. Wale taunts, and provokes thought with verses like, “what is all for?, addressing no man but give it up to my Lord”, and “oh that’s swag? Call me trash, Who ya source? Cause ya’ll sheep, the way I see it you’re all lost”. He preluded the tracks new sound with a tweet describing his inspiration for his upcoming work and the direction in which he is taking his art.
