Coats and jackets in menswear are very likely my favorite part of fall/winter fashion 2022. There’s something so classic, simplistic, and stylish about a leather jacket and wool coat that’s established the biker jacket as a mainstay in my wardrobe. Not exclusive to menswear alone, the leather jacket and wool coat are also along the most essential pieces for your basic wardrobe. Some things never truly go out of style. Changes in menswear are few and far between. Because of this, I try to encourage going against the norm when it comes to personal style. Make menswear fun and have fun with it.
Menswear has had some amazing things come out for the 2022 fall/winter season.
Denim jackets are an honorable mention this fashion season. Solid black or nude are my color recommendations for rocking a denim jacket or leather biker jacket. Nude is a rather underused color in menswear, so I jump at any opportunity to incorporate the color into my personal style. No, these pieces are not new additions to menswear. The style standard for jackets and coats this season is all about execution and the finished look these pieces contribute to. As a style tip, the jacket or coat shouldn’t be the focal point of the outfit, but something that contributes to the whole look. That’s the difference between style and fashion.
Don’t be afraid to play with prints either. Sure its always cool to go with a classic look, but that’s the problem with menswear–it doesn’t change enough. Thank go for culture. Certain public figures like Jayden Smith and Tyler the Creator have helped push menswear in a new and fresh direction. Make the most of menswear this season and take some fashion risks. That’s how true style is cultivated anyway–experimentation.
