Fashion Designer Jason Peters is without a doubt a name that we should keep in mind. He has already started marking a serious mark on the world with his clothing and this is only the beginning. Kontrol Magazine introduces to you, Jason Peters.
How did you get started with creating your line?
I’ve been in the industry almost 15 years successfully. Alot of hard work goes into creating a line followed by endless nights of no sleep! It’s all worth it in the end though.
How did you first get started in fashion design in general? Are you self taught or did you go to school?
My grandma is the main reason why I design. Growing up she would have me watch pageants, awards shows etc with her. Even at 4 years old my favorite parts of Miss USA or Miss America competitions were the evening wear segments. After each show I would take out my Crayola crayons start sketching crazy dress designs, cut them out and walk them around like I was doing my own runway show. I did attend college as well.
How would you describe your line?
I would describe my lines as edgy and unique. One of a kind pieces for each person on this earth. We are each individually one of a kind.
Who are the top 3 people/designers that influence your designs?
Alexander McQueen. Gianni Versace. Rihanna.
Favorite fashion icon.
Any notables that you have designed for?
Celebrities who have worn my line or accessories include Paris Hilton, Stephen Baldwin, Phaedra Parks, Omarion, Wiz Khalifa and more. Athlete Ocho Cinco “Chad Johnson” recently shouted me out on social media wearing one of my bear hoodies and now the last few weeks have been crazy!
Where do you see your line going in 5 years?
I hope to have it in boutiques around the world!
Favorite material that you love to work with?
Chiffon because it flows so beautifully!
One pro of being a fashion designer and one con?
Being able to have creative expression and the freedom to let my creativity and imagination run wild. A con is you get no sleep when you are really a working designer.
Where can we find your collection?
