Did you know that you can create your own amazing hair recipes with items found In your fridge?
It seems much easier to just go to your favorite beauty supply store, search through a TON of products, read the ingredients, (hoping that you recognize at least a few) make sure they are sulfate free and then head to the cash register. Yes, there are MANY brands out there that are safe for natural hair and somewhat easy on the pockets but those prices add up!
I’ll be the first to rise and admit that, I knew it would be beneficial for me to DIY some of my hair products when I realized that I couldn’t just squeeze out the recommended amount of conditioner or shampoo… instead… it felt like I used half the damn bottle in one wash period. (Judge ya momma LOL!!!!)
We enjoy certain fruits and veggies for their amazing benefits to our bodies. Well, those same fruits and benefits can have the same affect on our natural tresses.
I remember the first time I heard about someone putting egg yolk and mayo into their hair, I was befuddled! I thought to myself, “NOT ME!” I had NO idea how beneficial the foods in my pantry and fridge were to my hair.
Mayo a staple product that can be found in many fridges around the world. Known for its fatty and oily consistency, mayo makes for a great product to use for adding sheen and moisture to your hair. An added bonus would be to add honey to your concoction. Honey locks in moisture and promotes hair growth.
We’ve all come into contact with some slamming guacamole (my guilty pleasure)! Well honey the next time you buy two avocado’s for your late night cravings.. go ahead and get two more for your hair. Avocado’s are rich in vitamins and other fatty oils that will help restore brittle hair.
Strawberries are known for being a great antioxidant for the body, but their rich nutrients also provide tons of hydration and shine to the hair.
The next time you think that you need to run out and get hair products…check your fridge first!
