Legendary Weekend was nothing short of LEGENDARY, and Saturday’s Legendary Gala, which celebrated and honored Sheen Magazine’s publisher Mrs. Kimberly Chapman and her 50th birthday, showed the crowd that no dream is unreachable and all you need is faith.
Hosted by Mykel Shannon Jenkins and Jasmine Burke, the night was filled with some of ATL’s finest celebs from HGTV’s Egypt Sherrod to ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s’ MiMi Faust, and ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ stars Marlo Hampton and Claudia Jordan. Other celebs included Christina Johnson and Andrea Kelly of VH1’s ‘Atlanta and Hollywood Exes’, Stevie Baggs Jr., ‘House of Payne’s’ Palmer Williams, Dr. Heavenly Kimes of Bravo TV’s ‘Married to Medicine’ with amazing performances from Bobby V – who got the crowd SUPER hyped, Leigh Bush (formerly known as Sammie), D. Woods, Tony Terry, and Vina Mills.
Everyone was dressed to the GAWDS in their most fashionable black tie best. Jasmine Burke served the crowd with three different gorgeous, elegant House of Falenci’ago gowns after receiving the Lark Experience by none other than celeb stylist, Julian Lark.
Throughout the evening, Legendary accolades in arts, beauty, fashion, and blogging were awarded including Kim Chapman receiving the Legendary Award for her contributions as an entrepreneur and humanitarian. Other recipients included:
Blogger – Tami Reed, ‘Talking With Tami’
Photography – James Anthony
Celeb hairstylist – Gocha Hawkins
Fashion – Dallas the Stylist
MUA – Colour U Cosmetics
Although the night was filled with many photo worthy moments, laughs, and dancing, the most memorable moment of the night was the heartfelt speeches Mrs. Chapman’s son, daughter, husband, and father gave as they presented her with roses in honor of her 50th birthday. You could feel the love and respect they have for her and you could tell how proud they are of what she’s accomplished throughout her career thus far – please believe everything that “came out of their mouths was sincere”!
It was truly an honor to witness a moving celebration as this and to be in a room filled with people who admire and respect Mrs. Chapman and the hard work and dedication she has put in to be a successful African-American woman.
Congrats to her and the Sheen Magazine team on a successful Legendary Weekend that inspired all to not only believe in the power of dreaming but to chase them as well!
