The word “bad” is thrown around so much nowadays that we have to clarify what it means. From style, to personality and hygiene, the word–as it relates to women–personifies mind-blowing character and a radiant confidence that can be seen from a mile away. According to “Bad Girls Club” Atlanta cast member, Valentina, bad means “being independent and knowing your brand.” Not to mention knowing how to maintain that brand.
Part of her brand is keeping up her look, as with most of us, right? That includes the pampering manicures, waxes, and the typical dolling-up. Not saying makeup and other enhancements create “bad,” but of course they contribute to it if that’s your thing. And thanks to MAC, Sephora and others alike, it’s very attainable! So whether you’re on your way to work, a party, out for food or just lounging around the house, there will always be those got-to-have beauty products super available and suit for any occasion. The question remains: What are those products and are they in your beauty bags?
We chatted with Valentina to find out what makes a bad girl bad and as far as makeup is concerned, it’s all in the eyes. Check out the bad beauty’s top three recommendations below:
1. Eye lashes
Long, luscious lashes are very popular and boldly enhance the look of the overall eye. “The more dramatic, the better,” says Valentina. And almost any will do. If you ever need to trim them to better suit your look, do so at an angle. Also remember to thoroughly clean the area before applying the lashes.
2. Black eye liner
Valentina recommends MAC’s black eye liner because it makes your eyes pop. Whether you choose a subtle look or drastic look, MAC has a bunch of different liners to choose from. Options range from liquid and creme, to pencil and pearlglide and more. If you’re in a fun mood, try the limited edition Archie’s Girls Pearlglide Intense eye liner ($16.50). It’s long-lasting and smudge-proof!
3. Eyebrow Pen
Raise your hand if you ever thought the most flawless eye brows of say, your favorite celebrity, were the result of a really great wax. That could be the case, but truth be told, some of it was probably drawn in. For full, even-looking eye brows, Valentina uses MAC’s spiked eye brow pencil. It provides a natural and defining look.
