To finger detangle or NOT.. Comb or not to comb! That is the question…

No matter what hair type you have, at some point you will experience NAPS AKA KINKS!
This is all apart of being natural, and outside of the different hair types, that it what makes naturalistas similar.
So What’s Your Story.. Do You Finger Detangle or NAH?
If you don’t mind spending an extra 15-30 minutes detangling your kinks then by all means use your fingers to work through your tresses.
When you finger detangle you are able to easily feel where the knots are and untangle them as oppose to using a comb and tugging at the knots. You experience better results if you finger detangle and follow up with using a wide tooth comb to get the nooks and crannies of where your fingers didn’t get to.

Combing is HARMLESS… It’s All About The Comb That You Use

I remember when I first decided to go natural a few years back, I had a women tell me that the best advice that she could give me would be to “use a comb hardly NEVER”. That has always stuck in my head. Years later, I rarely use a comb unless I have conditioner saturated throughout my head.
It is not until your hair becomes lengthy that a comb is needed.. if you’re sporting a TWA then you can easily finger detangle.

So.. my advice to you, detangle at your own risk! Do what makes you feel comfortable, because some may see combing as a great mechanism for detangling effectively and others may disagree. But, do what works best for you, your hair type and most importantly your comfort level.
…..Most natural hardly ever even touch their own hair… they have a stylist for all that lol!
